What to Tell Me

Three things cover most of it: what the boat is, make, model and length; where it is, marina, yard or mooring; and what the survey is for, buying, insuring, a claim or a valuation.

Who reads the report changes what it has to contain, so that last one matters more than it sounds. If a carrier or a lender has sent you a request in writing, forward it.

Coastal North Carolina out of New Bern: Oriental, Washington, Beaufort, Morehead City, Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach, plus Hampton in Virginia and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Also Hampton Roads in Virginia and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

If your boat is somewhere near that stretch and you are not sure whether it is in range, ask.
